Using ecology to restore land and water
Marsh marigold is a perennial with bright yellow, large buttercup-like flowers. Its blooms are often the first of the season, a sign of spring’s arrival. The thick, waxy leaves are rounded to kidney-shaped. The earliest emerging insects visit the flowers for nectar and pollen. Marsh marigold is found along stream banks, marshes, fens, ditches, and wet woodlands.
