Using ecology to restore land and water
Prairie smoke is a short, spring blooming perennial with uniquely jagged basal leaves and nodding reddish pink flowers. After the flower is fertilized, they turn upward and develop feathery, rosy plumes. Bumblebees are the primary pollinator of this plant. Prairie smoke is a great plant to add along borders and gardens with well drained soils.
