RESTORATION TYPE:ShorelineLOCATION:Chanhassen, MNDURATION:2022WORK DESCRIPTION:Removed turf grass on shoreline and added native species to create a beautiful focal point.February 13, 2026 2022 | Chanhassen Shoreline In 2022, these homeowners came to us with a bold vision: transform a dull turf shoreline into a stunning focal point that would captivate anyone approaching their dock in Chanhassen. Unlike most homeowners on Lake Minnetonka, the raised shoreline of this property ensured that the planted area would remain unaffected by the rough wave action. The project began with a detailed meeting to ensure we fully understood and could bring our client’s vision to life. Our installation team began by removing small saplings from a nearby green ash tree and clearing out thistle that had been growing in the turf. They then sprayed the turf grass in the designated area, then carefully removed it. We covered the space with mulch and installed fencing to protect the restoration from small mammals. We added over 600 native plants to the 1,300-square-foot area, setting the stage for a flourishing ecosystem. Our maintenance team took over next, using a range of techniques to eliminate invasive species and promote healthy growth. Once the native plants were well established we removed the fence, allowing the restoration to thrive freely. Two years in, and this restoration is thriving like never before! What was once a barren turf shoreline in Chanhassen has blossomed into a breathtaking natural haven. Native species are flourishing, reaching impressive heights and transforming the landscape into a vibrant, living masterpiece. No matter the size, you can turn any space into a stunning focal point that benefits both you and the local wildlife. Ready to make your own environmental impact?
