RESTORATION TYPE:Hillside PrairieLOCATION:Cottagewood, MinnesotaDURATION:June, 2018 - October. 2019WORK DESCRIPTION:This was a slope stabilization project. Using an aggressive mix of MN native plants and seed along with the proper erosion control fabrics, we were able to create a beautiful and stable hill slope.April 29, 2022 2018 | Cottagewood Hillside Using native vegetation to stabilize steep hillslopes just makes sense. On the Cottagewood site, we used a variety of bio-engineering techniques and a multitude of planting and seeding methods to establish a very functional, deep-rooted hillside prairie restoration. Here are the advantages: it looks terrific during all seasons, prairie plants send roots 10 to 12 feet into the soil, erosion in minimized, irrigation and fertilizers not needed, and the habitat value cannot be rivaled. Steep lakeshore slopes are our specialty. « 2018 | Girard Park Shoreline 2020 | The Preserve Triangle Prairie »
