In 2021, a local management company approached us with a vision to breathe new life into a neighborhood in Elk River through community lakeshore restoration. Complaints from residents about the lackluster shoreline, devoid of aesthetic and recreational appeal, prompted them to seek our expertise.

Our approach began with consultations to grasp the unique needs of the site. After collaborating on project design, we installed a protective fence to ward off pets and wildlife and utilized aquatic-safe herbicide to clear turf and cattail in targeted zones. After preparing the site, we added mulch and installed over a thousand plants, encompassing more than 70 different native species. Continuous monitoring by our maintenance team ensures the suppression of invasive species, allowing the native plants to thrive.

The impact on the community has been profound. Now, residents can witness a bustling ecosystem of pollinators and wildlife in their own backyards – a stark contrast compared to what it once was.
