RESTORATION TYPE:Shoreline, Rain Garden and PrairieLOCATION:Waconia, MinnesotaDURATION:June, 2009 - Sept. 2022WORK DESCRIPTION:Converted a typical turf and riprap shoreline into a beautiful stormwater runoff filter buffer system. Creating pollinator habitat with over 1000 MN native plants.April 29, 2022 2009 | Lake Waconia Shoreline These Lake Waconia clients inherited a very common problem. Sterile rip-rap on their shore and a myriad of traditional landscaping that provided minimal habitat. We had an amazing time creating shoreline stabilization project on Lake Waconia. By understanding the client’s goals and designing a project that softened the rip-rap, we introduced an incredibly diverse and attractive shoreland buffer. The clients still have shore stability and recreational use, but now also have an exceptional looking shore that is ecologically functional and lake friendly.
