Natural Landscape Monitoring and Maintenance in restored prairie

Monitoring and Maintenance

Long-term natural landscape monitoring and maintenance is critical to successful restorations, especially in urban areas where continual weed infestation is a given. It makes sense to protect your investment with a solid maintenance plan. Our crew leaders are experts in native and invasive plant identification. We use the most up-to-date science-based management techniques to control invasive weeds, including strategic herbicide use, hand pulling, weed whipping, and tractor mowing. Our customer reviews are second to none.

Residential

For residential properties, we offer three levels of maintenance (standard – 3 visits, select – 5 visits, and elite – 6 visits during the growing season) so that our clients have options in choosing a plan that works for them. Our plans include on-site consultation, monitoring, plant identification, herbicide and equipment, removal and proper disposal of weeds, and detailed record keeping. Prices are based on the property size, level of weed infestation, and the maturity of the native plant community.

Local government

We work with many cities and counties to develop and implement maintenance plans on public shorelines, rain gardens, boulevards, and a variety of natural areas. Native plant communities on public lands look great, provide habitat, and function to clean air and water. We are proud to keep these areas looking their best. We have experience in reporting and documenting maintenance activities for permit requirements. Examples of control methods include, but are not limited to, weed whipping, selective herbicide applications with attention to public safety, hand pulling, and inlet debris removal in rain gardens.

Corporate

Our maintenance team has experience with large, high-profile natural landscape monitoring and maintenance, creating integral components of corporate campuses. We understand the value of a good-looking landscape for client perception and enjoyment, as well as maintaining a functional ecosystem that provides a host of environmental services. We tailor custom maintenance plans that meld site conditions, corporate goals and budget requirements. Generally, these maintenance plans include spring mowing, properly timed herbicide applications, weed whipping and hand pulling noxious weeds. When appropriate, we will introduce additional native plant species for more diversity, beauty, and landscape resilience. We will keep detailed records for permit requirements.

HOAs and Condominiums

Natural Shore enjoys working with property managers to maintain sustainable and visually appealing natural landscapes. We understand that residents have wide-ranging views on how properties should be managed. We are sensitive to this situation and the differing views that may exist. Oftentimes, we receive positive feedback from association residents and representatives on our detailed care regimens and up-keep of their properties. Whether it be a shoreline, prairie, or woodland planting, our maintenance techniques and implementation are guided by property management and association requirements and desires. When in the field, we take time to meet the residents and educate them on the maintenance taking place and the unique natural areas that we establish.
